BARBARA LOUISE VERSCHOORE Obituary
Barbara Louise Verschoore
(Nee Maughan)
August 31, 1955 – February 27, 2026
Barbara Louise Verschoore, born August 31, 1955, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara faced cancer with remarkable strength and quiet determination, never allowing her illness to define her. She remained the same loving, warm, and spirited woman who brought joy and comfort to everyone around her.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Barbara devoted over 44 years to the City of Winnipeg, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of her colleagues. Even after retirement, she continued to forge meaningful connections and touch the lives of those around her.
In her youth, Barbara played volleyball in high school and later pursued her studies at university. She was an exquisite cook, expressing her love through meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Her generosity extended far beyond the kitchen—Barbara had a special gift for making everyone feel cared for, whether by offering a listening ear, sharing words of wisdom, or spoiling those she loved with thoughtful gestures.
Barbara’s kindness and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She cherished time with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She was a devoted wife to Kevin, a proud mother to Jordan and daughter-in-law Brianna Verschoore, a loving sister to Douglas and his wife Cona, and a cherished aunt to Beckki, Caitlin and her husband Aaron, and Trevor and his wife Nicole. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Tracey Verschoore. She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and the many friends fortunate enough to have known her. Family was her heart and her greatest joy.
Barbara’s strength, generosity, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Forever in our hearts.
